This month, CommuniTech were proud to be one of over 40 local services that attended the Brighter Living Fair 2018; an event run by Wandsworth council to showcase the support and care services within the borough.
During the event, we ran a live workshop helping members of the public with their technology queries, as we would during the workshop run at Tech & Tea events. Andy, one of our co-founders and our financial officer, took charge for the day, with a lot of help from Hands On London who provided us with 6 incredible, enthusiastic volunteers.
As a small charity, this was a huge opportunity for CommuniTech, to spread the message of our sessions to a wider audience across the local area. We also took this opportunity to take as much feedback as we could about the scheme, and find out where we may be needed next. We’re hoping that this will be the start of many future events as we continue to grow and expand through Wandsworth.
Councillor Paul Ellis, the Council’s Health and Social Care spokesman, said: “This was a very successful event, and we’re delighted it was well attended and so many organisations came along. We hope that the day will give residents the information they need to stay healthy and independent.”
Once again we would like to thank the Brighter Living Fair for inviting us to the event and our amazing Hands On London volunteers for their hard work during the day. We’d also like to thank everyone who attended and made the day so fantastic. It was amazing to meet so many new people that were interested in what we do, and find out about so many other great services on our doorsteps!
If you missed the Brighter Living Event and want to find out more about us, come along to our next Tech & Tea session 2.30pm-4.30pm Sunday 15th July in Battersea Library.
